Weekly Digest – Week 5 – 12.02.2018 to 18.02.2018

  1. This week’s first place goes to this blog post series about conversion made by Thrive Themes. Shane Melaugh from Thrive themes has done a great job analyzing several real time Opt-in forms and providing advice on how to improve them. Don’t forget to read the sequel too, where readers have submitted their own opt-in forms and have asked for suggestions on improving them

    • Main structure of the article

      • In the first blogpost, Shane analyzes four different opt-in forms and identifies the positive and negative aspects of these op-in forms.

      • Then he focuses on the negative aspects and explains why they might be hurting conversions.

      • He provides ideas on optimizing the opt-in forms.

      • Finally, he designs a new opt-in form based on his ideas. The good thing is, you can see that the new opt-in form designed by Shane is much more efficient than the original one.

      • The sequel is pretty much the same with six more examples, but more detailed.

    • Main takeaways

    • For me, there are three take-aways from this article:
      • Your headline is the most important part of the opt-in form. Craft your headline so that it captures the reader’s attention. Don’t rely on your content solely, to sell itself. A good opt-in form should be able to do the greater part of the selling.

      • Focus on the benefits, not on the features. Nobody cares about what your product can do, they are concerned about what it can do for them.

      • Create a compelling Call-to-action. ‘Let me in’ sounds a lot more convincing than ‘Submit’.

      • Make your Lead Magnet stand out. Don’t let it get get lost in your opt-in form design.
