“How to increase blog traffic?” – This is the question that keeps every blogger awake at night. While getting traffic is one of the biggest hurdles online, we can learn a lot from leading experts in the internet marketing field. So, in this blog post, I am going to list out the methods used by the big names in this field.

So, without wasting any more time, let’s get straight into business.

I have listed down some interesting methods (not in any particular order) used by several famous internet marketers to get traffic to their website.

How Do Serious Internet Marketers Boost Blog Traffic?

1. Neil Patel

Well-known not only to experts, but also to newbies in the field of blogging and internet marketing, Neil Patel is one of the top ten marketers in the world, according to Forbes.

He posts insightful articles, interesting podcasts and helpful videos regularly. I recently watched his video in which he reveals his secret tips to get 37,000 views to every blog post he posts. He also claims that if you follow all the steps he mentions in the video, you can get at least a 1000 visitors to every blog post you post.

He has a lot of success by mailing people to whom he has linked out to, and informing them that he has linked out to them. Once he does that, most people (almost everyone) share his blog post in their social channel, thereby increasing his traffic and brand recognition. In his video below, he goes into detail on this method, as well as some other methods.

2. Greg Kononenko

Greg Konenenko is the owner of the blog called The Caffeinated blogger. The primary focus of his blog is traffic. In this video, Greg talks about a method called ‘The Reverse Pitch method’, using which he started getting 4,000 – 6,000 visitors every day to his new blog from Google, in a matter of 6 months. Long story short, Greg sends emails to several people before writing an article asking for tips to write an article. Once they reply, he links out to these people and they in turn link out to him and share his blog post in their social channels.

Watch the video below where Greg explains everything in detail.

3. Brian Dean

Brian Dean is the owner of Backlinko. His website has got a ton of useful articles on how to get traffic. But, the highlight today is the video he released recently, that showcases 9 of his favorite and advanced traffic-building strategies. These are the strategies he uses, to get over 180,000 visitors to his website.

My favorite tips are to use Click-to-tweet links and produce viral content. If you’re asking “Is there a formula to create viral posts?”, I am sorry to say there isn’t. But in this video he also reveals the common properties of viral content, and which kind of content gets the most number of shares. Finally, he also explains one under-rated method that can get you a decent amount of traffic if you’re new to internet marketing.

You can watch it all in his video below:

Two of his tips really changed my attitude towards getting traffic:

  1. Always diversify your traffic so that you get new audiences from every platform. Till now, I always wanted to stay in just one platform. I now understand that it is a wrong mentality. Of course, you’ve to master one platform before moving on to another.
